The IQ audit workshop, a joint initiative by IQAS and QPIDS, was designed to support trainees in conducting audits, which are an important part of their accreditation and evidence requirements. The workshop aimed to support trainees in completing audits and facilitate quality improvement projects.
Initially planned as an in-person event in Liverpool, the workshop was adapted to a hybrid format to increase and encourage attendance. Despite the hybrid format, most attendees participated remotely.
The workshop included an examination of the key factors required for a successful audit, with expert advice from facilitators who provided practical insights based on their experience. Attendees and facilitators then participated in group discussions to build their templates and refine their audit ideas.
Participants were engaged and enthusiastic during the workshop, with productive discussions about their project ideas. The hybrid format, though challenging, was managed effectively by both attendees and facilitators.
The workshop concluded with a final presentation of the attendees' audit ideas, allowing time for feedback from colleagues and facilitators. The different QI project proposals included topics in allergy, clinical immunology, and laboratory immunology.
The QPIDS clinical lead, Sarah, noted that the workshop helped trainees develop their ideas and learn from each other. However, the ultimate measure of success will be the completion and impact of the projects initiated during the workshop.
The IQ audit workshop was a promising initiative that provided valuable support to trainees. The collaborative approach and practical guidance helped participants develop their project ideas.
We hope to hear more from the attendees with the outcome of their projects and look forward to sharing more then!
